WHAT IS HAIR REMOVAL?

What is it?

Light sources destroy the entire hair follicle, and the germinative cells, while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue. Founded on the principle of selective photothermolysis, the light sources gently remove unwanted hair

How it works:

Photothermolysis, a process whereby characteristics of light energy, including wavelength and pulse duration are optimised to selectively cause thermal injury to the hair follicle only. Subsequently, the light penetrates through the skin, where it is absorbed in the target pigment (melanin), found in the hair shaft. This results in the temperature reaching sufficiently high levels in the hair follicle, whereby the targeted hair structures are destroyed and regrowth inhibited.

Laser hair removal is most effective whilst the hair is in its growth phase, otherwise known as the anagen phase. Hence, multiple treatments are performed several weeks or months apart, in order to obtain optimal results.

Expected Outcome:

With FDA approval to create a permanent reduction in the number of regrowing hairs following each treatment, the amount of treatments depend on several factors related to your specific type of hair and skin.
