How is the injectable made?
Made from synthetic CaHA microspheres, suspended in a water based gel carrier, it is 100% biocompatible. CaHA and its components calcium and phosphate occur naturally in human tissue.
What does the treatment involve?
A local or topical anaesthetic is utilised prior to injecting the CaHA, below the skin’s surface through a fine needle. No allergy testing is required before treatment and it is fully approved in Europe (with CE certificateon) alongside the USA (FDA clearance).
Once in position the CaHA particles form a “scaffold” to support and stimulate the production of the body’s own collagen.
Is there any downtime with CaHA?
Some common injection related reactions may occur, such as swelling, itching, bruising and tenderness at the injection site. If any side effect is experienced, it usually resides after a few hours or days.
How long do the effects last?
A CaHa correction lasts 12 months or longer in many individuals. Results may vary and can be affected by age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.
