WHAT IS PLATELET RICH PLASMA?

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy or the Vampire Facelift as it is also known as is the safest, non-invasive procedure currently available. Cells are used from you own body, therefore there can be no allergic reaction.

What is it?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) utilises a purified and concentrated portion of your own blood to rejuvenate your skin.

PRP is not only rich in Platelet Cells, it also contains some important growth factors and even some of your own stem cells to further stimulate the restorative process. When PRP materials are injected, it represents a completely natural and effective way to reconstruct your skin, including the tissues around the eyes. How it works:

The treatment involves harvesting platelets from the Patient’s own blood. Therefore, a small amount of blood is taken and passed through a centrifuge system, to separate the platelets and fibrin from the red blood cells. This concentrate, known as the matrix, is then injected into the desired treatment areas.

Upon injection into the skin, platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin. Most importantly, the growth factors contained in the plasma boost collagen production. The stimulation of collagen production results in new skin cells being formed and therefore an improvement in skin elasticity. Ultimately, this creates a tightening effect on the treated area and enables Patients to achieve smoother, younger looking skin.

What should I expect after treatment?

As no unnatural substances are used, there is no danger of any adverse or allergic reactions. We are using your own cells.

Some may experience slight swelling, which usually disappears in 24 hours. Individual cases, where some are prone to bruising easily, slight bruising may be evident, yet is easily covered with make up.

How long does it last?
